I am sorry, but I only have a small update again this week. Hopefully soon I will have time to make even more new creations. Here are the few new additions, hope you enjoy them!
Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it. It looks like we are going to have a gorgeous day here in the Hudson Valley. I’m so happy that spring in finally here!
A few fresh items were added to the shop on Friday.
Robin the Blue Wool Felt Bunny has arrived just in time for Spring and Easter. He was named for the Robins egg blue wool felt that he was stitched from.
The 1st Annual Softies Easter Parade voting polls have opened today! There are a few entries from me in the billions of bunnies and parade of pastels categories. Go see the cuteness and vote for your favorites. wink, wink…
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all have a lovely day!
It seems like I have been working non-stop for the last 2 months. Custom orders are so much fun and when not creating a custom I’m squeezing in a new item for the shop or taking care of the house. I have gotten quite a bit finished lately. I just listed these new things on Friday…
I know this because our ducks are back. We have three mallard ducks that live in a pond behind our place from early spring until fall. They came back, quacking loudly to announce their homecoming, this past weekend.
I’m still working on many custom orders for the shop. This is one of the latest… Etsy Labs Blind Mice!
Yes, those are the Blind Mice Likenesses of the girls of Etsy Labs : Danielle, Julie, Christine, and Mary. I wasn’t sure at first how it was going to work to take photos of humans and make mouse feltidermy versions of them. I ended up being white happy with the results.
Oh, don’t forget to tune in today to see Emily Martin of The Black Apple on the Martha Stewart Show today!
Use a peeler to take off 1/2 of the rind from your tangerine and mice finely.
Combine, egg, milk, vanilla, oil, salt and minced rind to a shallow pan and whisk together. Then squeeze in the juice of 1/2 of the tangerine.
Place slices of bread into liquid mixture to soak, turning after a few minutes to coat evenly. Start heating your pan on medium heat setting with a little oil.
When pan is hot, place the slices of soaked bread on the pan. I use a cast iron stove top griddle… any griddle or large skillet will work fine. Cook until golden brown on each side.
Serve while hot, top with butter, syrup and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Enjoy!
Yesterday was a very exciting day! I was tipped off a few days ago by an article in The Storque that one of my items may be appearing on The Martha Stewart Show this week. I tuned in for her show yesterday and saw Rob Kalin of Etsy telling Martha Stewart about Feltidermy! Whoo hoo!
Mothtoflame has posted a video clip of the segment here for those of you who have not seen it yet. Thanks Deborah! The show will also air again on the Fine Living Network on the evening of Monday March 3rd.
I think this video clip from one of my favorite movies can sum up how I feel…
