Lately I have been thinking back to the Richard Scarry books that I enjoyed as a child. I could spend hours studying the pages of his books. The idea of animals living their lives like humans just fascinated me to no end. I decided with Easter on it’s way and Peter Cottontale hopping down that bunny trail, that I would share a few anthropomorphic bunnies that I found browsing Etsy.
Not too much to tell you about today, I finally got 8 hours sleep and I will be putting one of these new plush in the shop later today.
Yesterday on Twitter, Etsy asked people to post their favorites on their blogs. I still can’t seem to figure out how to insert the Etsy Mini in this blog…So instead I’ll give you this, if you haven’t seen it yet. Leslie Hall and some Craft Talk, this song is stuck in my head already.
Sprout and Manipogo wanted to help greet you all today… I agreed since they are wearing their green! Sprout is the newest addition to the shop.
I am taking a 1/2 day to celebrate and cook today! The corned beef has been brining in the fridge for a few days. I found the recipe through Craftzine’s Blog. It was really pretty simple, you just have to give it at least 3 days to brine. The real recipe is here at Chow.com. I hope to have some good photos of it tomorrow.
I’ve actually been spending quite a bit of my free time cooking lately. I think the spring weather has me wanting to try new fresh recipes. Last Friday I used Martha Stewarts Lime Meltaway recipe to make orange meltaways.
I just basically substituted orange whenever the recipe called for lime. I’ve done this with lemon too, these are so nice with a cup of tea!
On Sunday I made a couple different things…. First was the cranberry lime scones I made for breakfast.
Here is my recipe :
~preheat oven to 500 degrees
Sift together:
1 1/2 cups white flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbs. sugar, I use turbinado sugar
cut in 1/4 cup very cold butter so you have little butter particles that are about the size of a small pea.
stir in:
zest of one lime
Juice from 1/2 of the lime
Enough milk to make 1/2 cup when added to lime juice, I use soy milk
1/2 cups chopped frozen cranberries
Round up on a floured surface. Knead very lightly. Pat out to about 1/2 inch thick. brush with 2-3 Tbs of milk and sprinkle 2 Tbs more sugar over top. Cut into wedges. place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 minutes until golden brown.
The Embossed Rhino Feltidermy that I finished yesterday is featured on Cuteable’s Flickr Friday! What a great way to start my Friday! Here’s a larger view of this feltidermy.
There are a couple more feltidermy that have been added to my shop this week.
I love pygmy goats! If I had a little farm land I would have a few of my own. I just had to make a Pygmy Goat Feltidermy!
Also new this week is a Bunny Rabbit Feltidermy that is just in time for spring and St. Patrick’s Day….in chartreuse green of course!
I made black bean and tofu enchiladas last night. They were really yummy! I’ll try to get the recipe written up today so I can post it for you this weekend. It has been warming up around here the past couple days, but it looks like rain for this weekend. If we get our rainy weekend I’ll be posting here and working on new items for the shop…if not, I’ll be out goofing off!
.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all have a great weekend!
