Fall Festival Time of Year!

I wait for this season all year long! The air is cooler, the leaves are falling and yes the festivals are starting. Last weekend we went to the Garlic Festival in Saugerties, NY. If you haven’t heard about it, well…where else can you get garlic ice cream? It has been featured on the Food Network and yes, it’s all about the food!

Once you fight your way through the main street of food booths you can go to two different fields full of garlic vendors.

After all of the tasting and walking you are so worn out that you just want to go home and nap! It was a beautiful afternoon full of garlic.

Later we had a couple friends who had come Upstate for the day meet us for dinner. We went to the Roundout District for Puerto Rican food, yum! We arrived there and realized there was another festival going. Ummm…yeah, we just live here, we don’t know everything going on. It was the First Annual Italian Festival.

We were very glad that we were not down there for Italian food, all of those restaurants had a 45 minute wait. We walked right into El Coqui and were able to be seated right away! They have the most yummiest food! After dinner of fried pork chops and mofongo, we walked around and got gelato, you can’t go to an Italian fest without getting your gelato!

We went to Woodstock on Sunday to take it easy. I’ll tell you about that next time.

I wanted to introduce you to Sonny and Kelly. They are the newest additions to my shop!
