A very nice feature on Feltidermy!

Lisa of Lou Lou & Oscar has posted the sweetest feature on myself and feltidermy on her blog!

I am so flattered that she even wanted to interview me! You can read the whole thing here on her blog.

Speaking of feltidermy, you can find a new, larger than normal sized Fawn Feltidermy in the shop today! Here’s a peek at what it looks like.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

A Little Like Credit Card Commercial…

Traffic and parking to Yankee Stadium… A mess

Bleacher seats… crowded, hot and sticky

My nephew getting to see his favorite player hit a home run… Priceless!

We had a great time at the game! I had never been to a real ball game before either, so it was really fun to see it with them.

Now back to real life again…

I added a couple 1″ button sets to the shop today. There are 2 to choose from:

First is Girlsavage Plush Button Set which includes 3 buttons of plush critters packaged in a black velvet pouch. This set includes Chippy Squirrel, Bunny Blue and Spotti Fawn.

The next is Girlsavage Plush Button Set 2 which features four other plush set against a white background. This one includes a loch ness monster and a unicorn in the set. This set also comes in a black velvet pouch.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Busy, busy, busy…

It seems like I have been working non-stop for the last 2 months. Custom orders are so much fun and when not creating a custom I’m squeezing in a new item for the shop or taking care of the house. I have gotten quite a bit finished lately. I just listed these new things on Friday…

Today I finished a couple custom orders. I was so excited to do a mini photo shoot of them together up on the wall of my studio.

It was fun to see 2 large feltidermy on the wall and a great excuse to do some cleaning.

I have a new feltidermy brooch that I will be listing tomorrow morning. This one will be a beige bunny!

Also on schedule for tomorrow is the cooking of the corned beef! Yay! I love corned beef and can’t wait to smell it all afternoon.

New Additions for the New Year

I’ve been very busy this week getting some new creations ready for the shop

Jackalope 13 Feltidermy

Rainn the Wool Felt Squirrel

Dijon the Wool Felt Fawn is already on her way to a new home.

I’m currently working on a new “life size” jackalope feltidermy. I plan to have it finished and listed Monday afternoon.

It’s been a busy week here at home also. Coming home form a long trip is always quite a bit of work what with laundry and getting back into the swing of things again. Coming home after Christmas always tends to be even more so. My parents gave us a new set of pots and pans, in red that match our red and yellow kitchen! We also received from them a set of silverware, a set for 12! Both of these additions to the household have brought up all kinds of reorganizing this week. The silverware drawer has been completely revamped, as well as the pots and pans cupboard.

I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

Wow, that was quick!

Stormy went into my shop on Thursday, got onto the front page Friday and sold while up there! I think that is the quickest any of that has ever happened to one of my guys. It was all very exciting, but I’m going to miss that face!

I’m still working on the Choco Bunny, he’s about half way finished. I was the queen of procrastination yesterday, putting off anything I could until a later time. I did manage to sit in on the Etsy critique workshop, take Bean for a walk and list a new skunk in my shop. Yes, I said a new skunk. His name is Marco…Senor Marco Stinkypants to be exact. He is a funny little guy!

I’m very excited that my parents are coming out for a visit next weekend! I haven’t seen them since June when we drove back to Illinois for a visit. We have our wedding anniversaries within 2 days of each other, they are coming out to celebrate with us! I can’t wait to see them, it will only be for a couple days, but I’ll take what I can get. I think we will take them apple picking, since they don’t have very good apples in Illinois this year. We all love to go for drives and this is the perfect time of year to do that out here. Oh and we are going into the city for a show! We have tickets to a preview performance of the new show that Hank Azaria is staring in. My Mr. built the web site for the show.

Hopefully this will be a pretty weekend! It rained all week, the sun finally came out yesterday. It would be nice to see some blue sky! O.k. it can be gloomy out this weekend as long as we get pretty weather next weekend. I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!

Feltidermy and how it came to be.

I thought today I might show you some more feltidermy. I just added this guy to my shop this week.

Mounted Fawn Fletidermy. I love that he looks slightly surpised and confused, yet happy to be there. After all he is a feltidermy, he doesn’t know that he represents a dead animal. He does know that he is a whole lot cuter than a dead animal.

Feltidermy came about by a strange request from a music video producer. I was contacted and asked if I could make a mounted moose head that could be puppeted from behind to lip sync to music. While I actually thought it was not such a weird request, but the fact that it would need to be in Los Angeles, CA 4 days from then was way out there too me. I hadn’t even thought about the mechanics of the whole thing…A pattern would have to be developed, mounting would need figuring out…Let alone the whole puppetry aspect. I decided I had to try to make one, not a puppet version, just mounted. I loved the idea of a mounted felt stuffed animal head!

Here is what I came up with after 2 weeks of work.

Mounted Deer Feltidermy! I am happy to say that this one now has a new home. Don’t worry, you can find more in my shop. There is even a Feltidermy section to make it easier for you to find them. Right now you can find a mounted buck, a lavender jackalope and the mounted fawn.

Yes, I also do custom pieces if you are interested. This is the White Rabbit Mounted Feltidermy that I just made for a customer in the past week.

She loved the feltidermy and Powder the White Bunny in my shop. Mix that together with a fascination with Alice in Wonderland and there you go… a brilliant idea! I was so happy to be able to bring this idea to life for her!

Yes, again…and some new cuteness too!

Yes, Tuesday I came home to find Fern the Jackalope on the front page! She looked so cute in the collection of items she appeared with.

There are now 4 jackalopes in my shop. Please, stop by and see them!

I wanted to start telling you about some of the wonderful items I have purchased on Etsy. I will try to tell you about 1 new item and seller each week.

This week I would like to show you an adorable pin cushion I recently purchased from Rabbits Moon.

Isn’t it one of the cutest things? So well made too, I just love it! The attention to detail is something I really appreciate. This pin cushion is so wonderful in all of it’s details! Please stop by and see some of the wonderful things in store there.

I was using one of my own creations for a pincushion, but after having such a great week last week… I really wanted to treat myself . I’m pretty practicle when it comes to purchases for myself, so a pin cushion was perfect. I’m so glad I found this one! I mean, a deer on the pin cushion I use when stitching deer! Perfect!

Speaking of deer, I will be adding a new fawn in a couple days. Be sure to stop by and check her out. I can’t tell you too much about her yet, since she is still being stitched up. I can tell you that she will be hot pink!

Are you kidding? Again!

Yes, Friday I received a message from Sadielouwho to let me know that Mossy fawn was on the front page! I couldn’t believe it, but there she was, right front and center of the front page of Etsy! Four times on the front page in one week!

She was up all night long, from around 5:00 pm to 8:00am Saturday morning. You can find her in my shop. Bun Bun Bunny and a custom punk squirrel will be heading off to new homes on Monday! I was asked if I had ever thought about making a camel last night. What a cute idea! I have started drawing up a pattern for one. I have another showcase coming up on Monday, maybe there will be a camel in my shop by then.

Thank you to everyone who put me in their treasuries that made the front page! It is such an honor and thrill when it happens.

Have a wonderful weekend!
