Crystal skulls, mythical and legends

We went to the drive-in last night to see the new Indiana Jones movie! I had heard bad reviews for it, so we were a bit worried that it would be awful. I have to say that it was exactly what an Indiana Jones movie should be, fun!

There is a new creature in the shop this week of mythical proportions.

Pegasus Wool Felt Plush I’ve been waiting for the chance to make this guy for a few months. I’m very happy with the way he turned out.

Also new this week is a brand new feltidermy!

Loch Ness Monster Feltidermy I really like this one, I get a giggle every time I look at it.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Southwest Chicken Salad Sandwhich

What do you do with the leftovers from a beer can chicken?

The logical answer to me this morning was Southwest Chicken Salad for lunches.

Here is my recipe that I made up this morning…

1/2 cup leftover chicken, diced
1 Tbs. minced onion
2 Tbs. minced orange or red pepper
2 Tbs. canned corn with chiles, drained
4 Tbs. drained and rinsed black beans
3-4 Tbs. vegetarian mayo
1/2 tsp. chipotle powder
1/4 tsp. each of the following:
chili powder, cumin, garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste

Mix all together and spread on your favorite bread or roll. Enjoy!
This should make enough for a couple large sandwiches. If you had a whole cooked chicken, you could increase this to make enough for any weekend gathering.

I’ll leave you today with a photo of Bean from this weekend of chillin’ and grillin’. She loves to sit out in the yard!

A few new faces and some excitement.

A few new faces made it into the shop this week.

Cinder the Wool Felt Little Lamb made his 1st appearance on Monday.

He reminds me of a baby lamb that used to follow me around the farm when I was little. Yes, I had a little lamb and no his fleece was not white as snow, but he was very sweet!

Yes that’s me at 2 with my little lamb, out in front of the house.

There were also a couple new Feltidermy added this week.

Bunny Rabbit 9 and Jackalope 16

A couple new plush were also added, they are already on their way to their new home.

And now for the excitement! Christine and Danielle of Fact&Fancy have invited me to be a part of their 1st show! I sent off a few pieces to be a part of the show! The Wet Paint show will be open from June 1st- July 13th at 75B Hoyt St Brooklyn, NY 11201 Please check it out if you can, I sure would like to get down to see it! It’s the 1st show I’ve participated in, so I’m very excited about it!

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Wii Etsy Finds

A new Wii system is what was new at our house over the weekend. I’m not usually one for game systems, but this one really is fun! I decided today to bring you a few Wii related Etsy Finds.

First are these awesome gocco prints from ArgyleWhale. ArgyleWhales favorite things are peculiar animals, delicate pastries, gaudy jewels and dramatic weather. This shop is where you can find them in the form of hand stitched rugs, Gocco prints and paintings.

The Wii Belong Together Gocco, Perfect for your sweetheart or those who just love their Wii.

And Guitar Hero Gocco print for the virtual rock star in your life.

I love the Wii skins from NoveltyGallery. This Floral Series – Wii Skin (vinyl decal) would look great in any living room!

They have many other designs and also make them for other game systems! Very cool!

And fianally this adorable, tiny Wii Nunchuk and Remote Charm set from GeekToys.

They are made from polymer clay and can be made into either earrings or attached to cell phone lariats.

Hope you enjoyed my Etsy Finds for today. Have a great Day! Oh and be sure to check in my shop later today for a new little plush. I’ll have more about it tomorrow.

Skippy Visits Las Vegas!

We had the chance to go to Las Vegas for the weekend for the Jersey Boys Opening. Of course Skippy Prototype got to tag along for the fun!

He had so much fun people watching. He thought the views from up on the over street walkways were the best.

There is so much shopping in that town! Skippy really enjoyed the Caesars Forum Shops.

In the Forum shops he ran into the Trojan Horse of FAO Schwartz. Skippy told him that he should buy handmade toys, of course.

He thought the cranes in the Bellagio Botanical Garden had a pretty good life. All of the beauty of the outdoors, under glass!

There are not many trees in Vegas. Skippy thought the Eiffel Tower at Paris looked like a good place to climb and stash some nuts.

He realized that you can’t go anywhere in Vegas without passing at least one set of slot machines. He really wanted to play! Skippy was very disappointed to find out that not only was he not old enough, at just 1 year old, but slot machines don’t take acorns.

After all of the excitement of a wild weekend in Vegas, Skippy was very glad to go back home. Besides it was his first trip on a plane. Not many squirrels get to see the world from above the trees!
