Antlers!

If you have read this blog before or have been in my Etsy shop, you should know of my love for antlers. I wanted to show you a few antlers items today.

The first is a gorgeous necklace that my Mr. gave me for Christmas from loving anvil.

It’s so delicate and beautiful! I also love that it is sort of unexpected to look closer at a necklace and find such a wonderfully detailed buck! Be sure to check this shop out for many beautiful items.

Next item was a treat to myself. I saw this adorable hat at Jack Rabbit and had to have it!

Christine is so talented and yes, I believe that is her modeling the hat. Isn’t she cute! I received it the other day and fell even more in love with this hat. It fits like she made it for me and the detail is awesome! I also have to say that it matches my green wool coat too. Please check out her shop for some really amazing pieces!

Next is the newest jackalope from my shop, Mocha Jackalope.

He is every shade of color you would expect from my favorite morning drink, a mocha latte.

Lastly today is a pair of antlers for my newest custom piece that I will be completing today.

This piece will be a mustard, tan and bone colored version of the jackalope feltidermy- large. I will post photos of it after it is finished.

I hope you all have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday!

It’s seems like this has been a very long week, which makes the fact that it’s Friday even better! I’m still busy stitching as usual…I’ve added a few more items to the shop this week.

mirabel.jpg

Mirabel the Tiny Purple Wool Felt Squirrel was added on Tuesday. She is on her way to a new home today.

graydoefeltidermy.jpg

Gray Doe Feltidermy was a new addition on Wednesday. I’m not sure what it is about her, but I love this one! Something about that sweet, yet cartoon-like face…

Yesterday I finished a double custom order. I love the way they turned out!

nessywunicorn2.jpg

Yes, that is a purple unicorn with a Loch Ness monster! They were so much fun to create!

I have work to finish today on a chocolate plush jackalope. I will also be starting on a custom large jackalope feltidermy.

I hope to get time to make up a fresh batch of granola some time today also. I have been making at least 1 batch a week lately. I went to the natural foods store yesterday to get some spices and grabbed some sliced almonds while there to put in granola. I also bought some stone ground wheat flour, hopefully I will to get some bread made this weekend! I haven’t had time to make bread in a while, I think I need to take time to do that.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by.

Cornelia the Wool Felt Unicorn.

It’s been a nice relaxing weekend around here. Yesterday I made stew! Chickpea & Artichoke heart Stew, a recipe from a friend received years ago. It reminds me of our Sunday dinners we used to have with friends every week when we lived in Illinois.

Chickpea & Artichoke heart Stew

-4 cups water or stock -1 tsp. rosemary
-2 med. onion (chopped) -1 tsp. sage
-2 cloves garlic (minced) -1/2 cup pureed sweet potato
-2 Tbs. olive oil (may use jarred baby food)
-1 tsp. tumeric -2- 15 oz.cans chickpeas drained
-1 tsp. paprika -3 cups artichoke hearts drained
-4 med. red potatoes (1/2 in. cubes) & quartered
salt & pepper to taste

optional for garnish–lemon wedges, parmesan cheese, sour cream

–Bring water or stock to simmer. Saute’ onion and garlic in olive oil (8 min.) Stir in tumeric and paprika and saute’ (1 min). Add stock or water, potatoes and other herbs (cook 12 min). Stir in sweet potato puree, add artichoke hearts and chick peas. Add salt and pepper and return to simmer. You may let this simmer as long as you like, I like to for at least a 1/2 hr.- 1 hr.
-top with parmesan & a squeeze of lemon and a dollop of sour cream if you wish.

Enjoy!

New Additions for the New Year

I’ve been very busy this week getting some new creations ready for the shop

Dijon the Wool Felt Fawn is already on her way to a new home.

I’m currently working on a new “life size” jackalope feltidermy. I plan to have it finished and listed Monday afternoon.

It’s been a busy week here at home also. Coming home form a long trip is always quite a bit of work what with laundry and getting back into the swing of things again. Coming home after Christmas always tends to be even more so. My parents gave us a new set of pots and pans, in red that match our red and yellow kitchen! We also received from them a set of silverware, a set for 12! Both of these additions to the household have brought up all kinds of reorganizing this week. The silverware drawer has been completely revamped, as well as the pots and pans cupboard.

I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

I’m baaack!

After 2 weeks away for the holidays, it’s so nice to be back! How fun to start off the first day back to really working with Goldie on the front page!

It was great motivation for completing this cutie for a girlsavage custom order. She will be shipped out today.

And I’m so happy to be back home to the girls!

I missed them so much!

Now I really need to go get to stitching more creations, the shop is looking sorta sparse these days. Stay tuned for new critters and feltidermy!
